Graduate Education roles

Director of graduate studies (DGS), graduate program coordinator (GPC), and college coordinator (CC) are graduate education roles that are involved in degree progress and clearance. People in these roles receive additional access to:

  • Workflow routing and approvals, including:
    • Examination committees
    • Recording preliminary written exam results
    • Graduate advisor assignments/updates
    • Master's plan type
    • Graduate minor
    • Graduate registration exception requests
  • GPAS planner, audit, exceptions, and approvals
  • Automated degree progress and clearance emails

Complete the Graduate education role update Google Form to request an update. Please submit separate requests for adding and removing individuals from a role. Processing requests may take 3-5 business days.

There can only be one DGS, CC, and GPC per program and/or college. All programs should have a DGS and GPC listed at all times to ensure smooth and timely approvals. Contact GSSP with any questions.
