APAS (the Academic Progress Audit System) generates reports for advisors and their undergraduate (and some certificate) students. An APAS report lists degree requirements, summarizes a student's progress, and explains what they need to do to complete their declared degree.
Twin Cities faculty or staff who use APAS are encouraged to attend the quarterly user's group meeting. Email [email protected] to be added to the user group calendar meeting.
Note: Because every student’s circumstances and departmental policies are different, the APAS team cannot work directly with students. You can ask students’ questions on their behalf to the APAS team at [email protected].
Training and access
To access APAS, complete the following steps:
Complete the FERPA Tutorial.
For more information on what FERPA is, visit the FERPA page.
Complete additional steps for the specific APAS role you need access to.
Read the role drop-downs below for those steps.
Note: When requesting access for a student worker, select the role that best matches their access needs. While there is not a separate access request for student workers, they will be placed in a student-specific version of the role upon fulfillment of the request.
APAS View role
Most staff and faculty will only need APAS View access. If you only need APAS View access, complete FERPA training, and then fill out an APAS Access Request Form (ARF).
- Run and view APAS and What-if reports
- See details on how transfer coursework was evaluated for all students
APAS View and Exceptions role
If you need to request access for the APAS View and Exceptions role, first complete the APAS Exceptions training. Once you have completed training, fill out the APAS Access Request Form (ARF).
The APAS View and Exceptions role will allow you to do the following:
- Run and view APAS and What-if reports
- See details on how transfer coursework was evaluated for all students
- Allows advisors to add, modify, or delete APAS exceptions
Campus-wide or system-wide roles
For campus-wide or system-wide roles, complete the APAS Exceptions training. Then fill out the APAS Access Request Form (ARF). Communicate with your supervisor about on-the-job training after gaining access.
