PCAS

The Program and Curriculum Approval System (PCAS) is the system by which degree program curriculum are proposed, reviewed, and approved for the program catalog.

PCAS is a secure system that requires Internet ID authentication to enter, edit, or approve curricular changes. All U of M faculty and staff can view PCAS entries. More information is available in the PCAS FAQ.

Access

The Program & Curriculum Approval System (PCAS) will soon be replaced by the Coursedog Curriculum and Catalog application. Effective April 28, 2023 the Access Request Form (ARF) used to request access to propose, update, or approve program requirements in PCAS is no longer available. This is necessary to support the implementation of Coursedog. Please contact srhelp@umn.edu if you have any questions about accessing PCAS.

Note: all UMN staff have view-only access to PCAS.

Please note that because of security requirements, there is a timeout on the use of PCAS. If you have the application open for more than 30 minutes with no activity, you will be asked to sign in again.

Information on course designators and requesting new course designators is available.
